Mum complains after stars including Bowie, Freddie and Prince fail to ‘turn up’ for gig

An angry mum has blasted radio station bosses after taking the day off work to see a star-studded gig ‘featuring’ Freddie Mercury, David Bowie and Prince.

46 year old Sarah Vermouth let rip at UK station JackFM Oxfordshire after the headline acts were all, not surprisingly, a ‘no show’ for the  festival – made up for a cheeky stunt.
JackFM had planned the stunt for months with faked interviews with artists, stage managers and security companies culminating in a three-hour show on air.
Breakfast show hosts Trevor Marshall and Caroline Verdon, (pictured), “presented” the “Dead Good Live” festival in a bizarre stunt.
The accountant, Sarah Vermouth, claimed she was unaware of their much-publicised deaths and slammed the station for wasting her day.
In her statement the divorced mother-of-three, from Oxford, said: “I took the day off work and put my kids in the car and hoped to be able to buy tickets from a tout outside.
“It turns out the venue didn’t exist and the list of artists they had said would perform were all dead – how was I to know?"

JACKfm programme director Tim Parker said: “Dead Good Live was simply a way of being able to play three hours of live music from some of the best artists the world has ever seen.
“We are sorry Sarah feels disappointed but do feel that we were clear and obvious from the outset.
“The venue was made-up, no tickets were ever available and all of the artists were dead.”

Dead Good Live ran for four hours and took place in the "900-acre" grounds of "Haplington House".
JACKfm's website suggested tickets were sold out and listeners could hear it all from midday.
Breakfast Presenter Caroline Verdon added: "Our interviews with dead artists included Michael Jackson claiming to have spent the last seven years dressed as Mickey Mouse, Freddie Mercury officially renaming Queen "four old ladies still rocking" and John Lennon claiming to have been on a 36-year solid bender."
