On air altercation puts show off-air

A popular Winston-Salem North Carolina morning radio show is off the air after the station said two of its members were suspended for a “physical altercation.”

107.5 WKZL posted on its Facebook page that Jared Pyke and Jason Goodman (pictured) of “Jared and Katie in the Morning” were suspended indefinitely, along with the show’s content.

The video shows Program Director Jason Goodman and on-air personality, Jared Pike competing in a challenge. The “Baby Bump Challenge” is a segment filmed and uploaded on YouTube. During this particular challenge, Jared and Jason chugged milk from baby bottles, in a race to the finish.

When Jason finished his bottle notably faster than the other three contestants, Jared accused him of cheating. At one point, the video shows Jason smacking a bottle out of Jared’s hands and the two begin to shove each other.

1075 KZL General Manager, Dick Harlow said no comment, when asked if the suspension was a hoax.

Many listeners and one former 1075 host are calling the incident a publicity stunt.
