Members of three groups have gathered at the ABC’s Sydney headquarters today to protest cuts and an impending restructure being  considered by the board (see our earlier report).

Our reporter at the protest has been talking to some of the protesters to get their views on the proposed cuts:

Murray Renshaw and Margaret Lund told radioinfo, “they’re cutting all the good things the ABC does… they’ve been [cutting regional services] for years and years and it’s getting worse and worse.”

Renshaw’s message for Michelle Guthrie: “You’re going to destroy the ABC and the listeners are going to be the losers.”

Lund told radioinfo: “We need the ABC for democracy… we have to fight for it.”
