Variety FM Ipswich is Ipswich’s first online community radio station, with live shows during the weekday Including The Breakfast show with President Jon Griffin and drive with Andrew White.

Jon started the station in January after noticing Ipswich did not have a local voice for small business and community groups.

 “Once we are a not for profit, which we are in the middle of doing, we hope to apply for a temporary FM licence  (Variety FM Ipswich Radio Made For You),” says Jon. 

“We have contacted ACMA and frequencies are taken, but we’re told we could apply for a temporary license, which we will not be doing for at least 6 to 12 months time… We are only new and getting on our feet.”

Since January, Variety FM has had over 4 thousand Listener Sessions and is ‘growing daily‘. 

Variety FM is always looking for volunteers with show ideas to join the station.
