Former Geelong radio announcer killed in US

Former 3GL and 3UZ announcer Monique Denahy has died in the US.

Initial reports suggest that she was killed by her husband in a murder suicide after telling him she was leaving him and treturning to Australia with their children.

Bay FM Geelong reports:

It’s believed Monique Denahy, 49, was killed by her 55-year-old partner, Daniel Milner, before he took his own life at the couple’s rented home in a gated Florida community.

It is understood Ms Delahy was about to leave her partner and return home to Australia, where her daughter is a border at Geelong College. Neighbours told local media Ms Delahy and Mr Milner had only lived at the property for about a month, and kept largely to themselves. Florida police say they are still investigating the deaths.
Geelong politician Sarah Henderson, a friend of Ms Delahy, broke down while paying tribute to her friend in federal parliament overnight
