Full list of 2008 Commercial Radio Award finalists

The ACRA finalists have just been released, and a full list is below. The contest for Best On-Air Team will be fiercely contested this year between The Hamish and Andy Show (Fox FM 101.9), The Kyle and Jackie O Show (2Day FM), Merrick and Rosso and Kate Ritchie (Nova 969) and Michelle and Smallzy in Brisbane (Nova 106.9). Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O have won this award for the past two years and Nova’s Merrick and Rosso are also past winners.

Low Powered Open Narrowcast auction in Gawler sets new record price A Low-Power FM 88 MHz licence in Gawler sold at an ACMA auction for a record-breaking price of $7,600 last month. Nasal delivery helps keep station revenues up. But at what cost?
Despite the CRA media release that boasts a 5.76% rise in revenue for commercial radio in metro markets, the fact is that many stations outside of Perth are struggling. Nowhere is the pain being felt more than in Sydney where the market as a whole lost ground to the tune of 1.17%. Doesn’t sound much, but given that some stations are still raking it in, others must be losing a poultice.
