What would happen if Macquarie and Fairfax merge?

Analyst report

“Consolidation would produce Australia’s third largest commercial metropolitan radio group.”

Global Market Insight (GMI) has today released a summary report on what it would look like should the Macquarie and Fairfax radio networks merge.

For days now, news reports have speculated that the two major networks have been in talks about a possible merger to help generate a single larger company and network. Other news reports have denied that a merge is even being considered.

GMI’s report analyses both companies historical prices and financial positions and concludes that a consolidation would produce Australia’s third largest commercial metropolitan radio group, behind Southern Cross Media and DMG Radio Australia.
