Just last week Austereo informed the stock exchange that its CFO Steve Kelly would be stepping down. 

The sad news has come through that he has passed on. 

Austereo CEO Rhys Holleran broke the news to staff earlier this morning saying: 
“It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing yesterday of our Chief Financial Officer, Steve Kelly. You may be aware that Steve has had a battle with cancer over the last 14 months. Steve was an outstanding individual and a great friend to many through our group and he will be missed by all of us.

I cannot begin to tell you personally what this man has meant to me, he has been a dear friend, an extraordinarily talented colleague and just a great man. Our thoughts are with his wife Alex and two sons Ben and Josh. For company ASX reasons we are required to make a statement to the stock exchange and that will happen as you receive this email.”

Steve commenced as CFO of Southern Cross Media in 2010. Prior to this he spent his early career in the accounting profession before taking on finance and management roles. He has managed IT departments and large scale acquisitions and held senior position in Australia, Asia Pacific and the USA.
