Still turned on by Sandilands

Southern Cross Austereo's director of radio, Guy Dobson, told the Sydney Morning Herald the results of the latest survey period, which covers 10 weeks to late April, are proof that the controversial radio identity is not a turn-off for listeners. And he said the outrage was more a preoccupation for journalists. ''It has never been an issue for us,'' he said. The ''octopus tentacles'' of social media and websites such as this paper's and that of the Daily Telegraph were feeding off the story because it was good for business, he said. ''I can understand why you guys do that but it is more of a story for you guys than it is for us."
