Not long until Perth’s newest station goes live

As the clock ticks down to next week’s launch of Triple M in Perth, the station is running its soon-to-be on the air promos.

As radioInfo reported earlier this month, Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) has announced that the Triple M network will be extending to Perth, with the new station set to air on digital radio beginning this Monday 2nd September.

SCA is marketing the station as ‘Perth’s newest real music alternative’ and promoting heavily Triple M’s exclusive football calling rights as offering a ‘genuine alternative to tired, old AM football coverage’.

With the station’s lauch imminent, it has released the first glimpse of what listeners can expect to hear when they tune into the newest Triple M network addition. Listen to the promo on the new Triple M Perth website here

SCA has always dreamed of putting the Triple M brand into Perth, but its other two stations Mix and 92.9 have always been strong brands and programmers had previously decided to keep the existing formats and brands while they were doing well. It was also seen as being to SCA’s strategic advantage to retain the Mix brand name in that market, to prevent ARN from being able to use it across the whole country.

Digital radio in Perth now gives the company a chance to bring in the iconic Triple M brand to the west.

Triple M Perth will go live via digital radio next Monday 2nd September.
