New Perth breakfast line-up promotes former Big Brother housemate

Heidi has been evicted again, but this time it’s a good thing.

The Big Brother gamble has paid off for former NXFM breakfast host Heidi Anderson who will be joining Will and Woody in Perth 92.9 FM’s new breakfast line-up. Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) today announced the new ‘young and energetic’ breakfast line-up will begin on November 11.

This comes after current 92.9 breakfast announcer Lisa Fernandez announced she would be leaving the show to spend more time with her young family, and co-host Baz joining her.

Southern Cross Austereo Head of Content Craig Bruce said: “In Perth’s under 40 breakfast battle, we’ve drawn a line in the sand – the new or the old. Congratulations to Heidi, Will & Woody and the many CD’s who have played a role in their development along the SCA talent pipeline. Giving a young team their first big breakfast break is one of the best parts of what we do.”

Heidi Anderson said: “I’m so pumped to be heading back west. They say west is best and you know what… I think it might be! I’m coming back after only a short stint on the east side – it’s only been seven months and I’m back here! I just can’t get enough of the beaches, the people, the WA lifestyle, the beer and my Perth-born Prince Charming, James!”

Will and Woody said: “We’re incredibly excited about our first big breakfast radio job and coming West. We’ve heard the Sunday Sessions are epic but we will need a lot of help from 92.9 listeners on stuff like where the best beaches, the best pubs are and where we should live”.

On NXFM, Heidi’s former station, she announced around 12.30 today to the breakfast team and listeners that she would be leaving. It was also noted that her replacement would be Sophie Tiller, the former Sea FM announcer who filled in whilst Heidi was in the Big Brother house. Listen to the break below:
