Magic transformation for 4BH

4BH completed its transition to the Magic brand this morning, ready for the new ratings year.

After the 6am news, new jingles appeared on the station and presenters referred to it no longer as 4BH, but as Magic 882. As reported previously, the fairfax station is being brought in line with Fairfax’ Melbourne brand.

Magic will play ‘the songs you know and love’ from the 1960s-1980s era.

The line up includes Moyd Kay, moving to Magic 882 breakfast from 4BC afternoons, Ian Keenan coming from 4KQ into Mornings and Greg Victor, making the move from Mornings to Drive.

4BH General Manager Anthony Frangi said he is delighted to see the new direction the much loved radio station is taking.

But the station formerly known as 4BH has not forgotten its heritage. It has posted a series of old logos, playlists and pictures on its website today as the name change takes place.

See the photos here.

On the 1967 playlist, shown in the historical pics, the top 3 songs are: The Last Waltz, The Letter and Itchycoo Park.
