Blunt Instrument

You can’t beat natural talent – and it is a rare thing indeed to experience a global star of the magnitude of James Blunt standing just a few metres away in a small room.

Blunt mesmerised the 200 fans (as well as this one and his wife) who had won a coveted place through MixFM to be at Australia’s first ever iHeartRadio Theatre event,  held at the tiny Rock Lilly club in the bowels of Sydney’s The Star.

MixFM’s Tim ‘Rosso’ Ross introduced and farewelled Blunt who performed many of his hits from his career including High, Goodbye My Lover and You’re Beautiful as well as songs from his new October 18 album Moon Landing, including Miss America and the very catchy Bonfire Heart.

A firm fixture in the US live music scene, the Los Angeles and New York iHeartRadio Theatres have included performances by some of the biggest names in the music industry including Bruno Mars, Usher, Alicia Keys, Justin Bieber, One Republic and Lady Antebellum.

ARN recently launched the iHeartRadio app on iOS and Android, released ahead of schedule due to overwhelming public demand of the online service and the app rocketed straight to No. 1 on the music app charts. The iHeartRadio mobile app has already amassed more than 226 million downloads in the U.S., making it one of the most popular apps ever. iHeartRadio reached 20 million registered users faster than any digital service in internet history.  It continues to be the No. 1 all-in-one digital service in the U.S. with more than 65 million monthly unique users across its network.
