First Afghan Media Directory released

The first media directory for Afghanistan has just been released. As media booms in Afghanistan, there has not, until now, been any equivalent of publications such as Margaret Gees Media Guide, where advertisers and PR people can go to get lists of radio, tv and print media. That situation has been rectified in a new publication by the Nai Institute for Open Media.

Nai contacted all media in the country over the past 12 months to compile this guide, which is available in English, Dari and Pashto.

With US president Obama in the country this week, PR hacks will be wanting to get their media releases out to everyone they can to spread their latest messages. And as more international businesses also target the country, they will be able to use the list to place advertising.

The guide is available in hard copy and electronic form from Nai, or by emailing amina.adal@nai.org.af.
