Now Kyle has The ACMA to deal with as it launches investigation
27 Jan 2012
It took it’s time, but the broadcast watchdog is growling in response to unspecified complaints made to it last year following Kyle Sandiland’s now infamous “fat slag” remarks made last November directed at a News Ltd journalist who criticised his failed television program. Whether The ACMA bites Sandilands and/or his employer in the proverbial will depend on the investigation's outcome which could be several months away.
An ACMA spokesperson told The Australian that the authority was looking at whether Kyle’s comments had breached the Commercial Radio Standards.
In an interview to be published tomorrow in The Weekend Australian Sandilands laughs off rumours that he is about to be sacked
"The idea that I might get sacked, that's just ludicrous," he says.
"People say, 'oh, all the sponsors are gone', but they're not all gone, and there are always other sponsors," he told the The Weekend Australian.
As usual, Southern Cross Austereo will not comment on the circumstances including The ACMA investigation.
